Aircrewcare has been arranging Loss of Licence insurance for Ryanair Group pilots since 2014.
Preferential premium rates are available for pilots of all Ryanair Group airlines.
Rates for trainee pilots and recently qualified pilots are among the most competitive available in the European market.
Availability
- Available to pilots of Ryanair DAC, Malta Air, Buzz and Lauda.
- Contract pilots can apply.
- UK-based pilots may apply, with benefits and premiums payable in Euro.
- New applications are accepted up to age 50.
- Preferential rates also apply to Training Fees Insurance for Students of recongnised FFP flight academies
Key features of the insurance are:
Permanent Loss of Licence insurance:
- Lump sum payment up to €300,000 payable after 180 days
- Maximum sum insured for contract pilots is €250,000
Temporary Loss of Licence
- Optional Monthly benefit up to 2% of the Permanent Loss of Licence lump sum
- Payable from 90 days for up to 24 months
- Maximum of 75% of pre-disability income
- (Pre-disability income is calculated at average of three months prior to injury/illness)
- Maximum Temporary Loss of Licence benefit for contract pilots is €3,000 per month.
- Monthly payments reduce the lump sum.
Psychological/Mental Illness
- Optional module which pays 24% of the Permanent Loss of Licence sum insured OR
- Maximum of 12 months Temporary Loss of Licence payments
- Payable upon diagnosis of specified psychological and mental illnesses.
(As listed in the psychological illness module, attached to all quotations, if selected). - Psychological illness adds 15% to your annual premium.
Premium Payments
- Premiums rise periodically, typically by 20-25% in five-yearly age bands
- Premiums can be paid annually, semi-annually or quarterly by bank transfer
Ceasing age
- Insurance remains valid against injury and illness up to age 63
- HDI do not reduce your insurance to accident only at any age
- HDI will not reduce your sum insured between ages 50 and 60
- Maximum sum insured after age 60 is €175,000
